JOHN DUBLIN CITY COUNCIL SPORTS/WELLBEING OFFICER
To whom it may concern,
I have employed Colin Donnelly to facilitate various Athletics initiatives on my behalf over the last three years and have found him to be an excellent and reliable coach. His knowledge, enthusiasm and personable approach have made him hugely popular amongst participants and staff alike.
Colin’s work on three programmes in particular have really stood out; ASD Athletics (for children aged 6-10 on the Autism spectrum), Couch to Parkrun (targeting under active adults) and Screen-time to Junior parkrun (Children aged 10-12). I am convinced that although these classes would have proven satisfactory with other coaches, they would not have reached such a high standard without Colin’s work ethic and understanding of each groups specific requirements.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Colin for further work as a coach and facilitator in the field of athletics and sport.
Kind regards,
John McDonald

Reference for Colin Donnelly
A Chara,
It is with pleasure and with sadness that I find myself writing a reference for Colin. I am the
Principal of a school for thirty wonderful children with autism and complex needs in Dublin,
Ireland. Colin is the founder of ufit, and we have been working closely together for the last three years. I honestly cannot recommend Colin highly enough.
Colin is passionate about athletics and he truly understands the needs of our children. He has
married these together with extraordinary commitment and success. Colin shared with me a saying
of his father; “ if you are going to do something, then do it right.” And he does. He gets the huge benefit of athletics to our children and has got the whole school up and running. He just gets it.
Typically Colin came to me months ago to flag that a wonderful opportunity in the US has come
his way and wanted to give me time to plan for the future. This has been a great help to me.
Naturally it will be a sadness to stop working with Colin but I count the blessing of the three
years that our pupils’ have received.
On behalf of the whole school community I want to wish Colin every positive stride as he takes
his insight and his mission to your wonderful country. He will be dearly missed. Naturally I am available at any time on the above number or on my personal email (michael.wood@saplings.org)
to support Colin in any way that I can.
Mise le meas,
Michael Wood (BSc, PGCE, Ad Dip Special Ed, MEd. MSc)
