Breathing for Running.
How should we breathe when we are running? Here’s some help
1. Breath from the pit of your stomach ,this is called BELLY BREATHING
2. Inhale from the pit deeply and hold for 3/4 seconds you will feel your diaphragm moving down ,release slowly your diaphragm will return to normal
3 What you are doing is trying to get as much oxygen into your lungs and increasing it’s capacity in those few seconds by taking in a big controlled gulp of air and then exhaling slowly
4 it is one of the toughest aspects of running to learn and takes a long time to master so try it out in intervals on your runs say for 2/3 mins at a time repeat 4/5 times .like everything in life you will get better with practice
5.By being able to control your breathing you will be able to run longer without being out of breath and maintain your pace
6 This technique can also be used in recovery when you are out of breath especially for those who specialise in sprinting and not distance running So give it a try ,practice and be patient it takes time but is worth it
